I love the scene where he grabs her hand and kisses it, how gallant.

The boxing scene absolutely brilliant and hysterical..

The scene where she is unraveling his underclothing I could not figure out why he did not stop her, then reading it was suggested that he was presenting himself as a man of wealth and would not have strings hanging off his clothes, that to me makes perfect sense..

MODERN TIMES - 1936
Charlie feeding his co worker stuck in the machine…

His co worker is Chester Conklin someone from his Keystones days, they were in a few short films together, Charlie used his old co-workers, stock players in many of his films, the actor Hank Mann (boxer in City Lights) was also from his Keystones and in this film played the part of a burglar in the department store.

Charlie and Edna at the end of “The Immigrant” - he asks her to marry him, she is shy about it so he has to drag her to the altar :)

Charlie Chaplin said about this film:

“THE IMMIGRANT touched me more than any other film I made”
